Choosing the trip that’s right for you.

You can choose any canoe or kayak trip from a half day, three quarter day or full day, or if you feeling particularly adventurous then why not dig out that tent and try a multi-day trip and paddle anything up to 100 miles of this stunning river.

After deciding which canoe trip you fancy it's easy to quick to simply book online for all self-guided trips or for guided trips or if you have any questions don't hesitate to call our friendly staff who are all professional canoe and kayak instructors to go through any questions you might have then you can book online and just sit back and relax until your Wye Valley adventure begins.

On the day of your canoe / kayak trip, you will meet our staff in Symonds Yat West where there is plenty of parking. We provide you with dry barrels for your belongings and then transport you to your launch site to start your Wye Valley adventure, then at the end of your trip, if you are not finishing in Symonds Yat West we meet you at one of the access points on the river and bring you back to Symonds Yat and your car.

Meeting Times

Meeting times for multi-day trips is 8.30 am as we need to get you on the water ASAP, full day trips 9 am, three quarter day is at 11 am and the afternoon half day trip is at 1 pm. We aim to get you on the river within 60 mins, this allows time to complete paperwork, get you kitted out with all equipment, give you a full paddle and safety talk and then take you up to the launch site to get you on the river. We ask that you aim to be at the shuttle meet point at approximately 15 minutes before your allotted time, please DO NOT arrive late as we have to consider all customers and although we will always try to get you additional transport if you are delayed I'm afraid we cannot guarantee your trip if means it delays the shuttle buses, the shuttle buses are just that, buses with a variety of groups on that are going to the same place that leave at a certain time.

Canoe or Kayak

Something to bear in mind is that although we hire both open canoes and single person kayaks for self guided trips we only hire kayaks to people that have previous closed deck kayak experience (experience paddling sit on top kayaks doesn't count), we do not need any specific qualifications but these are river journeys covering a fair distance each day so you have to be aware of what you are undertaking, kayaks are single person boats (with limited load carrying ability) and very different to canoes. It's quite easy to see when people launch if they have got any kayaking experience so due to the additional safety issues with kayaks if we feel (as kayak coaches) that customers don't have the required experience for kayaking we have no choice but to remove them from the river without so we would urge you to be honest about your groups kayaking experience and if in doubt just revert to canoes that require no experience.
